Made as a response during the Pacific Northwest Arts Program GLEAN, all materials to create these pieces were pulled from the Portland Metro Transfer Station (the dump) during a six month arts fellowship, meant to draw attention to waste management.
Turn of the century photographs found in a suitcase at the dump were hand manipulated in a darkroom, then printed on glass cut from discarded windows.
Steel from discarded fencing was re-welded into the minimalist frames that float the backlit image from where it is hung.
